The Government websites are the best place for the most up to date information regarding COVID-19.
The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson announced on the evening of the 27th January 2021 that he will be announcing an unlocking road map week commencing 22nd February 2021. He stated schools would be the first places to open and estimated this may begin on the 8th of March. We are now awaiting the road map for official confirmation of this and are hopeful weddings will be mentioned in this general road map.
The UK Weddings Task force is asking the government for clarity during the unlocking road map which is due on the week-commencing 22nd February. They are asking for a plan to allow weddings of 50+ people to go ahead as soon as it is safe to do so.
Currently, England is in lock-down. So, weddings are only allowed with strict limits on circumstance and attendance. Weddings must only take place with up to 6 people but anyone working is not included in this number. Again, the wedding should only take place in exceptional circumstances.
